Studies on Mitochondrion-bound Aldolase

Abstract
The author studied the effects ~ f NaCl in high concentration, nucleotides, vitamins. catecholamines. antibiotics, and other chemical agents on aldolase activity of mitochondrial fraction isolated from rabbit liver, and the results obtained were summarized as follows:
1) Mitochondrion-bound aldolase was dissociated by treating with 1.8% NaCI solution (ionic strengt, ¥ì =0.306).
2) When mitochondrial fraction was treated with the following agents for one hour at. 10¡ÆC, mitochondrion-bound aldolase activity was inhibited in the following order: vitamin C> adrenaline),. noradrenaline> DNP> DNA, but was activated in the following order: ether) lecithin> penicillin- G potassium> vitamin 13,
3) When mitochondrial fraction was treated ¢¥with the following agents for one hour at l0¡ÆC and then washed with 0.9% NaCI solution, mitochondrion-bound aldolase activity was inhibited in the follcwing order:lecithin> ether> DNP> adrenaline) penicillin-G potassium> vitamin B1> DNA> RNA} vitamin B12> sodium azide> ATP) streptomycin) AA) noradrenaline.
